Why is my card payment still pending?

A card payment can be pending when it has been authorized but still awaits confirmation or cancellation by the merchant. The merchant has up to 8 days to finalize the transaction or cancel it. In certain cases, such as online purchase pre-authorizations or hotel and car rental reservations, the period may extend up to 16 days.

It's important to note that sometimes, even if the payment has been rejected, it may still appear as pending. In such situations, the amount in question is automatically refunded to the original account within an 8-day period.

When a payment is rejected, you can contact the merchant to understand why the payment was declined.
