Can I close my Rauva account?
You can permanently close your Rauva account at any time.
We're sorry to hear that you're considering closing your account with us. If there is anything that we can do to address your concerns or improve your experience, please let us know before proceeding with the closure.
However, if you've made your decision, we'll be happy to assist you with the closure process.
How to request account closure
To close your account, please contact our support team directly, as it is not possible to do so through the app.
You can contact our support team through the following options :
On desktop (app.rauva.com):
- Log into your account.
- Click "Contact Support" in the left-hand menu.
- Request the permanent account closure.
On mobile app:
- Open the Rauva mobile app.
- Scroll to the bottom of the main menu.
- Tap "Support".
- Request the permanent account closure.
Required information:
- Clear indication that you wish to permanently close the account.
- The reason why you want to close your account (for improvement purposes)
What do I need to do before closing my account?
Essential steps before closure:
- Ensure that your account balance is at zero.
- Transfer or withdraw any remaining funds from the account.
- Cancel any pending transactions or scheduled payments.
- Download any statements or documents you may need for your records.
Important: Your account must be closed prior to subscription renewal to avoid being charged the subscription fee for the next cycle (if applicable).
What happens when my account is closed?
Once your account is in closed status, the following will occur:
Immediate cancellations:
- All cards will be canceled and deactivated
- Direct debit mandates will be terminated
- Standing orders will be canceled
- All account access will be revoked
Transaction handling:
- All incoming credit transfers will be returned to the sender
- No new transactions can be processed
- Account becomes permanently inaccessible
What is the difference between closing my Rauva account and my SWAN account?
It is important to understand that your Rauva account and your payment account (provided by our partner, SWAN) are interconnected. If you decide to close your Rauva account, you will be automatically redirected to a secure link provided by SWAN to proceed with the formal closure of your payment account. Once the closure is initiated with SWAN, our Support team will monitor the internal process to ensure the account is fully closed and confirm that all subscription payments and requirements have been settled.
Can I reopen my account after it has been closed?
No, once your account is in closing or closed status, this action cannot be reversed.
Account closure is permanent and irreversible. If you need banking services with Rauva in the future, you would need to open a completely new account and go through the full onboarding process again.
Please ensure you are certain about closing your account before proceeding, as this decision cannot be undone.
Rauva has a partnership with Swan, which provides all payment services to Rauva's clients. Swan is authorized and supervised in France by the ACPR/Banque de France, operating in Portugal under the freedom to provide services as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) and registered as an authorized entity under no. 7893 in the Bank of Portugal. Rauva does not provide payment services and does not take possession of customer funds. Clients' funds are protected in accordance with applicable legislation.
Rauva is a certified accounting firm but not a law firm. Therefore, Rauva does not provide legal services. Through its technological platform, Rauva facilitates its clients’ access to legal services provided by duly qualified and registered professionals in Portugal.
