What is the process for automatically sending documents to the Tax Authority?
With automatic communication to the Tax Authority, your invoices and related documents are submitted automatically three days after issuance, minimizing the risk of delays or potential fines.
What automatic communication to the Tax Authority is
When this option is enabled, all documents issued on the Rauva platform are automatically reported to the Portuguese Tax Authority 3 days after issuance.
Benefits:
- Prevents forgetfulness, delays, or fines
- No need for manual submission
- Compatible with all types of legal documents
If you work with an accountant, check whether you should use this method or submit manually via SAF-T file.
How to activate automatic document communication
Before starting, you must create a subuser on the Portuguese Tax Portal.

Then:
- In the Menu, go to Invoices
- Click on Preferences ⚙
- Select Method of communication with the Tax Authority
- Choose Automatic communication
- Enter your Subuser ID and password
- Click Save changes

If you haven’t issued any invoices in a given month, you must report no activity by the 5th of the following month.
