What do 'Booked' and 'Pending' payment statuses mean?

Payment statuses: Pending vs Booked
In Rauva (powered by Swan), payments can display one of two main statuses — Pending or Booked.
Here’s what each status means and how to interpret it correctly.
Pending
Pending means the payment has been initiated but not yet processed by the banking network.
At this stage, the funds are temporarily reserved (held) in your account — they’re no longer available to spend but haven’t yet been transferred.
What this means:

The payment order has been created and is awaiting confirmation from the banking network.

The funds are held and will be released or sent once the transaction is processed.

The payment may still fail automatically (for example, if the recipient IBAN is invalid or if the transfer is rejected by compliance checks).

In some cases, the transaction may remain pending while under mandatory compliance review required by banking regulations.
Once confirmed, the payment will move to the Booked status.
Booked
Booked means the payment has been fully processed and accepted by the banking system.
The funds have left your account and the transaction is now final on our side.
What this means:

The payment was successfully executed by the bank.

The funds have been debited from your account balance.

The transfer cannot be cancelled or modified.

The recipient’s bank will process the incoming funds according to its own clearing schedule — Rauva does not have visibility over the exact arrival time.
